Founded in 2026 by Vancouver's very own Michael Kim, the Critical Hits Orchestra is determined to bring live, high-quality performances of your favourite commercial hits to the stage. From video games to movie themes, the Critical Hits Orchestra and it's wide range of arrangements and styles ensures that the music can be enjoyed by audience members of all ages.
The band members are made up of talented professional members from throughout the Lower Mainland. Each musician holds a high standard of musicality, professionalism, and technical prowess that contributes to the cohesion of the Critical Hits Orchestra.
Beyond regular performances throughout the season, the Critical Hits Orchestra is dedicated to inspiring the young musicians of Metro-Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Once a year, the band offers an initiative for high school music programs that includes masterclasses led by professionals from the band and culminates in a feature concert by the Critical Hits Orchestra. High schools who participate in the program receive a discounted bulk ticket price for their group.
